Join Professor Jodi Magness to hear about recent discoveries in the Ancient Village and Synagogue at Huqoq in Israel’s Galilee. These excavations have brought to light the remains of a monumental, late Roman (fourth-sixth century C.E.) synagogue building. In this slide-illustrated lecture, Professor Magness describes her discoveries at Huqoq, including mosaic floor depicting biblical scenes which decorated the synagogue.
Jodi Magness is the senior endowed chair in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
