Men Enjoying Leisure (MEL)
Men Enjoying Leisure (MEL) is a group that gets together every second Wednesday of the month at 8:30 a.m. for different activities – lunch with different personalities and experts who offer insight into Jewish or Las Vegas life and culture, tastings and behind-the-scenes tours around town, sports, and more.
Sports Talk meets at 9:00 am on Friday mornings at Red Rock Casino Buffet for a discussion of the weeks sports headlines.
For more information on the MEL or Sports Talk program, please contact Elizabeth Bricker at 702-794-0090 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
April 19 Tour. The Review-Journal tour will begin at 11:00 a.m. Everyone who attends must be there no later than 10:40 a.m. so that any paperwork (badges, etc.) can be prepared. This is a walking tour and there will be some stairs to climb. For those of us who cannot do stairs, there is an elevator available. The tour will take about 1hour to 1-1/2 hours. I am guessing that the difference is to accommodate questions. I have taken this tour before, about 10 years ago, and it is really an interesting tour. I will be sending the tour notice out again, separately, so that you can respond to join us.
May 10 Breakfast. Our speaker will be from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department terrorism office. As you most likely know, our JCC received a terrorist phone call last month. This is a major topic about how and what the LVMPD are doing to take precautions.
June 14 Breakfast. For our breakfast on June 14, I have asked for a representative of Pulte Homes to talk us through the procedure that a developing company has to go through to create a community out of acres of dirt. The community is the Reverence Village in Summerlin. This will not be a pitch to buy a home.
