PJ Library is both a nationwide and global effort to provide young Jewish families and children up to age 11 with free Jewish books and music each month. The children receive an envelope mailed directly to their home with a story centered on the Jewish calendar or topic of Jewish interest. The program was created by Harold Grinspoon in 2005 and currently sends monthly subscriptions to more than 1,700 Las Vegas families.
The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada is proud to welcome Marissa Spivak and Beth Falk as our new PJ Library coordinators. Beth has been with the JCC for 13 years and also serves as the Director of Camp K’helah and past PJ Library Coordinator. Marissa began working at the JCC in early February with the Marketing Committee and has been a volunteer chapter advisor for BBYO for over 3 years. Beth’s efforts will be focused on launching PJ Our Way, a new initiative for children aged nine to eleven, while Marissa will be working with children 18 months to eight years old.
Beth and Marissa are passionate about bringing more Jewish educational activities to the Las Vegas area and look forward to expanding both the PJ Library and PJ Our Way programs.
